NCS and All Things Fundraising

We love to bring you news on all things academic, creative, inspiring and exciting – just to send the intellectual imagination in overdrive. Today we took the skills of the Lincoln UTC team to a new level. All Year 12 students have been getting involved in the National Citizenship Service (NCS) qualification. This qualification explores the importance of team work, highlighting the need for a solid team base for projects to run effectively in order to fundraise for charities and community projects.

This week saw the first round of their fundraising activity as a non-uniform day was started with all proceeds being sent to Children In Need. Lincoln UTC raised £126.33 just for the treat of coming in smart-casual dress. While we worked in lessons and offices, the Year 12 students raised £36 selling cakes and goodies at an afternoon bake-sale. All donations for their NCS project this week went to the Lincolnshire Air Ambulance. Charity fundraising was very enjoyable and the students got to experience the hard work and dedication it takes to raise money for any good cause. Needless to say, by the end of the week staff wallets were a little lighter, waistlines a little wider but the charity feel across Lincoln UTC meant we were all a little happier too. We are looking forward to the next fundraising projects coming up this month.
