Welcoming The Jubilee Probus Club

May 10, 2016 9:25 am

We were delighted to welcome The Jubilee Probus Club to the UTC yesterday afternoon. Dr Mackenzie delivered a presentation at their last meeting on the 22nd of March and invited the gentlemen and their wives to tour the UTC. We enjoyed touring them around the facilities and reminisced with some of the wives who had been students here when the UTC was a Girls’ School.

A Probus Club is a club for retired professional and businessmen. Although Probus was sponsored by Rotary, every Probus Club is autonomous and does its own thing. Apart from monthly luncheons, which include an after dinner speaker, coffee mornings are held each month and occasional visits are arranged to places of interest. There club aims to offer each other friendship, fellowship and companionship and the Jubilee Probes Club has a ceiling membership of seventy-five. If you would like to know more, have a chat with Mr Andrew Farmer, tel. 01673 885280.

Our thanks to Andrew and his fellow members for a lovely afternoon; we look forward to hosting a second event on the afternoon of the 17th of May.
