These organisations support the UTC because they strongly believe that students should be given educational opportunities that are grounded in industry-experiences and lead to progression into university or the workplace. Our employer partners are closely involved in the design and delivery of the Science and Engineering elements of our curriculum. Each course module is delivered hand-in-hand with one of our business partners, ensuring that the academic and technical education delivered to students is relevant and up to date. This allows students to experience the theoretical elements of their courses in academic and practical ways, both in Lincoln UTC and in business.
We also deliver projects, led by local industry experts and students from local Universities. These sessions extend the thinking and learning experiences of our students beyond the realms of normal college education. Our students are able to participate in research projects, using cutting-edge equipment and techniques to develop their knowledge and technical skills. These opportunities will also be invaluable to assist students when applying for jobs and university places. Examples include the Greenpower Challenge, the Atsro-Pi Competition and the Royal Navy Challenge.
What Our Employer Partners Say
“Today’s employer is looking for tomorrow’s innovation: Lincoln UTC provides an excellent opportunity for students to be prepared for that challenge, so that they can join employers such as Siemens as skilled technicians or as university graduates with a more informed understanding of business and industry in the vital fields of Science and Engineering”.
Nick Muntz, Managing Director, Siemens Lincoln
