Fundamental British Values

Lincoln UTC is a community in which the friendly, mature, and professional learning environment is underpinned by strong and supportive relationships, based on tolerance and mutual respect.

We share a community in which all are welcome and treated equally, regardless of age, sex, gender, sexual orientation, marital status, maternity, disability, race, or religious belief.

Our whole outlook on education is one where we support every student to achieve the very best outcomes that are possible, whilst preparing them for the future, whether this be in the working world of industry, an apprenticeship, or at university. A core theme within interactions every day is one where staff demonstrate appropriate behaviour, and where we coach students when they need help in their personal development.

At the centre of our approach at the UTC are British Values:

These five key areas are embedded in all that we do. From difficult, but supportive discussions, where we might explore choices that have been made, to celebrations of our diversity, where we demonstrate respect for others’ choices, our positive relationships allow for these interactions to organically occur.

It is not unusual for our students to discuss, debate and question a range of topics, other than curriculum content, with our staff during free time throughout the day. These interactions are encouraged by staff and welcomed by students.
