Open Day at Lincoln UTC

October 11, 2014 10:56 am

Lincoln UTC Opened the doors to the public, for the first time, on Saturday 11th October 2014. The day was to showcase work so far, listen to the inspiration of our staff and current students and delve into the vision of Dr Rona Mackenzie. Lincoln UTC planned free flowing activities to run in sessions and stop points to participate in throughout the day. Families and friends had the opportunity see through the microbes of science, test the imagination of CAD design, engineer Python Programming and steer a Vex Challenge.  Attending invitees were able to pedal to a free smoothie, take home a 3D UTC sample, designed by a talented Year 12 student Billy Hannah, construct a Shakespearian insult and begin to grow their own mutated cauliflower.  All our staff and students were on hand to assist in activities, with Siemens, Great Plains, Lindum Construction, the University of Lincoln, SHD Composites, Co-op and Stokes Coffee all participating in the day. Needless to say it was a great success, a thank you from everyone at Lincoln UTC to all those businesses that gave up time to help make it an aspirational day. A special mention to all the student ambassadors who drove forward the ethos and vision for the future, there was an unimaginable level of pride in their dedication to Lincoln UTC and their dedication to an inspiring future.
