A Visit to Cummins

June 20, 2015 9:17 am

Our Year 12 Engineers went out of Lincoln UTC for the day to visit the Cummins engineering site. Cummins is a global power leader that designs, manufactures, sells and services diesel engines and related technology around the world. Cummins is a network of 600 company-owned and independent distributor facilities and more than 7,200 dealer locations in over 190 countries and territories. Here at their UK site in Lincolnshire, the UTC students were given a factory tour and a real insight into the engineering facilities that are being designed, developed and produced on their doorstep. Aspiring engineers enjoyed the day and a unique view into one of Lincoln UTC’s employer partners. Martin Doughty, Engineering teacher, who lead the group said, “We cannot thank Cummins enough for spending the day with our students and taking the time out to work with them. It was a thoroughly enjoyable day and will undoubtedly have inspired some students to seek work in this crucial aspect of engineering”.
