We continue to make great progress as we further develop Lincoln UTC along the lines of its innovative vision. Recently our exciting project with the RAF saw our Year 12 engineers spend a day at Scampton whilst a team of younger students have taken on the task of decorating our Siemens sponsored Knight. I am delighted to say that numbers are buoyant, employer sponsors are increasing and we have assembled an excellent teaching team for next year. Please do keep in touch as we look forward to the last few months of Lincoln UTC’s fourth year!

Congratulations to Alfie Hinton, who has secured an apprenticeship with Fairfield Control Systems, which develops control and automation systems for use in a wide range of applications, including the retractable roof over Wimbledon’s centre court, the London Eye and Tower Bridge. Careers at Lincoln UTC

We are holding a post-16 careers event on Wednesday 10 May to which parents and students are invited. Several lectures will inform delegates about UCAS and other options. We held a careers' event last week, open to all, and visitors saw the breadth of support we receive from our local industries and engineering businesses.

SPARK Festival I am extremely grateful to Matthew Wells (Year 10) and Mr Olsson who supported all three days of the SPARK Festival held in the Cathedral. Shannon Barnes and Sam Dollings had a masterclass in model car construction from Mr Hamer although the students had already completed most of building in their mentor periods. Sam Baxter, James Beaumont and Hayden Laughton brought along their prize winning Vex ‘robot’ which toured the knave and aisles.
