Raising Awareness: Substance AbuseJanuary 16, 2015 5:40 pm
We were privileged to welcome the Amy Winehouse Foundation and guests to educate our Year 10 students on the decisions, choices and consequences of substance abuse.
The students were given first hand accounts of the impact of substance abuse and the effects that such decisions have on the person and those closest to them. The charity, The Amy Whinehouse Foundation, created as a result of tragic circumstances, is working with young people to have a very positive effect on many lives.
Our students were among the first in the country to take part in online surveys, pushing the boundaries of thoughts, emotions and decisions to truly understand how feelings lead to such actions. Our students were inspired to raise the awareness of this charity and promote their work. The charity aims to support, inform and inspire vulnerable and disadvantage young people to help reach their full potential.
