SAM Learning

November 4, 2016 11:36 am

Whilst Lincoln UTC does not set homework at Key Stage 4, we do expect our students to revise for their examinations during the two-year period of their studies. We appreciate that it can be challenging to find suitable resources to complete revision at home so we have purchased ‘SAM Learning’. This online resource can be accessed from any computer at anytime. Teaching staff will populate weekly revision resources for their classes and students will be expected to log on at home and complete their revision. The website provides revision activities and tests; it marks the tests, reports back to students and staff, and will enable us to support them where they find that there are gaps in their learning.

This is a vital resource and it is important that students and families can access it fully to make the most of the opportunity – research states that students using this website for 10 hours can see a one grade improvement in their GCSEs. You can read all about the impact of their work here: https://www.samlearning.com/improve/

We will be launching SAM Learning weekly revision on the 21st November. We would like to invite you to an event to learn more about SAM Learning and to make sure you are able to access it fully at home. The event will take place on Thursday 17th November at 6.15pm and will last for 45 minutes. We do hope you will come along to see the resource in action. If you would like to do so, please reserve seats at: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/sam-learning-launch-tickets-29116195324

We are inviting all Year 10 and 11 students and their parents so it is vital that we know numbers so that we can set up our facilities accordingly. If for any reason you are unable to attend, we will be sending out a user guide and explanation to assist you in accessing the site.
