The Skills Show is the nation’s largest skills and careers event, designed to help shape the future of the next generation. Attracting over 75,000 visitors, the show provides hands-on experiences to inspire young people and give them the opportunity to explore further education, skills and apprenticeships. The Skills Show is part of ‘Find a Future’, the organisation which brings together the nation’s flagship skills and careers experiences. Our students travelled to Birmingham NEC to take part in this event, enjoying first hand experience of careers from all over the UK, opening up the possibility to ask questions and see a collection of choices laid out before them. Prestigious supporters of the event were there to ask questions and ignite the imagination of our scientists and engineers. Our very own Principal, Dr Mackenzie even stopped for a ‘selfie’ with our students…and Nick Clegg in the background! We all left very inspired, challenging our young thinkers to consider what next steps are possible as they embark on their careers.
