Soper BMW visits Lincoln UTCJanuary 9, 2015 5:35 pm
As we all settle into a New Year and regale with Christmas tales and New Year celebrations our term started as fast-paced as ever. Our GCSE Business classes had ended their year exploring brand terminology, brand identity and what this means to a company. Our students began to explore the importance and effectiveness of marketing and how to take a brand identity to create a brand-within-a-brand. To refresh these topics and focus the students on a key case study, Lincoln UTC approached BMW, Soper of Lincoln.
It was with great pleasure that Jo Hoyles (Marketing Manager) and Danny Knowles (BMWi Brand Manager) came to assist the students in their case study. Jo and Danny delivered outstanding presentations on the BMW brand, the marketing campaigns delivered by Soper directly and strategic marketing of BMWi. Not only did our students receive a unique insight into a prestigious local company, they also got a chance to compete in an quiz designed specifically for them with the amazing prize of a test drive in the latest BMW i8. Leon, Lewis, Rhys, Jacob and Jake were winners of the challenge and were all taken for a spin in the super car! We cannot thank Soper enough for so generously giving their time and expertise. The students were not only given the pleasure of a unique and fantastic learning experience but an amazing memory of such a great day at Lincoln UTC.
