“The leadership of the provision for pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) is highly effective.” – Ofsted, 2019

We are proud to have such a diverse community, and were the first secondary school in Lincoln to be recognised by AIM4Lincs with the highest accolade possible for our inclusive culture for students on the autism spectrum and with social communication differences.

Our SEN team work hard to ensure that all students have the best possible access to an inclusive education, in a supportive, nurturing and innovative environment, with the opportunity to reach their full potential and personal aspirations.

As a department they seek to promote and develop best practice in the identification, assessment and provision of support for students with a special educational difference. They adopt a young person-centred approach, advocate when necessary, listen with empathy, and take appropriate action as needed.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding educational needs or student welfare, please do not hesitate to contact our Vice Principal, Mark Newton mnewton@lincolnutc.co.uk, or our Deputy Head of Inclusion, Helen Sprakes at hsprakes@lincolnutc.co.uk.
