Lincoln UTC might be a STEM college but reading is hugely important to us.
Staff dressed up for World Book Day on Friday and you may well recognise some of the characters they chose. The English department channelled the ghosts from Charles Dicken’s ‘A Christmas Carol’, the Engineering department painted the roses red in honour of Lewis Carroll’s ‘Alice in Wonderland’ and the SEN team followed Frank Baum’s yellow brick road to meet ‘The Wonderful Wizard of Oz’. Mr. Hamer and Mr. Archer did an amazing job of dressing up as Gran and Ben from David Walliam’s ‘Gangsta Granny’, much to our pupils’ delight and amusement. Pupils were also recommended Andy Weir’s ‘The Martian’ by Mr. Morrison, who spent the day accompanied by a bag of potatoes at all times!
Our thoughts have already turned to World Book Day 2025 and what other characters we can bring to life.
